We know. Another donation ask.
We know how it feels to open your inbox and find one more nonprofit with a hand out. We’re not going to pretend otherwise.
But we’re going to keep asking — not because we enjoy it, and not because we take you for granted, but because it’s working. Because we care too much to go quiet while wildlife killing contests are still legal in Wisconsin.
We don’t have a tote bag to send you. We don’t have a stuffed animal for your kid. I wish we did. What we have is heart — and bold, scrappy, effective ways to save wildlife. We’re 100% volunteer, so every single penny goes straight to the work. Not overhead. Not salaries. The work.
$100 left to hit our billboard fund goal this week — the fund that puts up Billboard #2.
This isn’t an abstract donation that disappears into a budget. It becomes something you can see — a real billboard, in a real place, that you helped put up.
Give $250 or more — and you’re on the team
Donors who give $250+ help us choose the billboard’s design and placement. You’re not a line item. You’re part of the crew that decides what goes up and where the world sees it.
Because here’s the thing: you ARE Great Lakes Wildlife Alliance. There’s no “them” doing this work and “you” watching. It’s all of us. You make the call, you make the difference, and you get to drive past it and know you did that.
Why placement matters: a billboard runs about $4,000–5,000 a month. Put one near the Wisconsin Dells corridor — roughly 4 million visitors a year, a tourism economy around $2 billion — and your message reaches an enormous audience driving right past it. That’s your personal outreach to end wildlife killing contests, reaching the dog owners and families who’ve never been told what’s happening.
And know this: you matter to us. Not as a number — as a person. The volunteers behind this don’t sleep much. We run all week, whatever else is going on in our own lives, because the wildlife can’t wait. We bust our butts so that you can be part of something real — no matter how little time you have to give. You bring the heart and the means; we’ll bring the relentless. Together, we win.
$100 to this week’s goal. Let’s wrap this up.
For the wild ones,
Melissa
