Priorities for 2026

  • Priority #1 — Stop the Hunt — Legal, legislative, and public pressure to prevent another large-scale hunt.
  • Priority #2 — Win Our Appeal — Secure appellate victory to ensure accountable wildlife management.
  • Priority #3 — State Petition Hearing — Push for state listing under WETSA for state-level protections.
  • Priority #4 — Defeat HR 845 — Oppose federal legislation that would strip protections and limit judicial review.
  • Priority #5 — Expose the Networks — Investigate and reveal dark-money and political networks driving anti-wolf policy.

LUNA

Built by Custom Wildlife Robotics (Wausau), Luna is a tactile outreach decoy used in schools, community events, and training. She opens conversations, demonstrates anti‑poaching techniques, and helps train volunteers and agency partners

15%

5%
Fundraising & donor communications

Where 2025 funds were spent (high-level):

  • Programs: education sessions, community outreach, materials and flyers
  • Legal: litigation support, legal analysis, filing and counsel fees
  • Research & investigation: affidavits, field research, expert analysis
  • Communications: mailers, website, digital tools, outreach materials
  • Operations: computers, software, mileage and travel for outreach
  • Administrative: basic accounting, small office expenses, insurance

2025 included lost grants and staffing transitions; those shortfalls increase pressure on litigation and program budgets for 2026. Your support sustains core programs and Luna outreach.

Why Your Dollar Goes Further

We are a lean, regional team focused on high-impact advocacy and direct action — your gift stretches farther here.

  • Unrestricted, bold advocacy — We can take legal and policy actions larger groups often cannot.
  • Greater impact per dollar — Lower overhead and regional focus mean more funds go to programs and legal work.
  • Local, measurable results — We target campaigns where a well-timed investment changes outcomes in our region.
  • Nimble and responsive — Small teams pivot quickly to emerging threats.
  • Direct connection to the mission — Donors hear directly from the people doing the work.
