Wildlife Wednesday: Documentary Screening and Panel Discussion

Wildlife Wednesday — ESA Film Festival Follow-Up

Wildlife Wednesday

ESA Film Festival
Follow-Up 🎬

Wednesday • 6–7 PM CST

We ran out of time at the Endangered Species Day Film Festival — so we’re bringing it home.

Join us this Wednesday for an evening of film, expert conversation, and action for wildlife. We’ll screen a feature documentary, dig into the ESA Day films as a group, hear from allies in the field, and talk about what you can do right now.

🐦 Featured Film

A Place in the Garden

Directed by Jeff Buss & Christina Ciano • Great Lakes Wildlife Lens

Two couples. Two backyard sanctuaries. One singular obsession: the Ruby-throated Hummingbird.

What begins as pure wonder grows into citizen science — educational talks, community outreach, and a federally certified hummingbird bander collecting data on one of nature’s most elusive wonders. A Place in the Garden is a quiet, beautiful reminder that conservation begins at home.

Featuring: Kathi & Michael Rock • Emily & Larry Scheunemann • Mickey O’Connor
Cinematography: Jeff Buss & Christina Ciano

We’ll open up the floor for a full group conversation about the ESA Day Film Festival films — what moved you, what surprised you, and what it means for the fight ahead.

Sharon from the Xerces Society will try to join us.

Bats, Wind Turbines & Concerned Citizens

We’ll screen a short film on our collaboration with Concerned Citizens for Wildlife and Wind Turbines and discuss what’s at stake for bats and other wildlife.
