Feel-Good Friday · Wolf Advocacy Week
π We met our October goal!
Thank you all so much. Every one of you showed Wisconsin has a real local base that stands up for wildlife. π
This is Wolf Advocacy Week. Most people call it Wolf Awareness Week, but awareness isn’t enough. Wolves need people who speak up. And there’s no better way to celebrate than with the wolf who turns kids into advocates.
πΊ Meet Luna

Luna is our life-size wolf decoy. Her head and tail move by remote control, and her day job is protecting real wolves by helping catch poachers in the act.
On her days off, she makes friends. At a Madison brewery, the Madison Farmers Market, and the Minocqua Winter Park, she drew crowds. Kids lined up to touch her. Dogs sniffed her and looked completely baffled. For a lot of families, it was the first time they stood face to face with a wolf. That’s how fear turns into respect.
“We don’t just teach kids about wildlife. We teach kids how to advocate for wildlife, and we teach them their power.”
β Melissa Smith
And here’s the part that makes us proudest: we’re partnering with Lac du Flambeau and the tribes at GLIFWC to put Luna to work against poaching in the Northwoods. A wolf who looks real, standing guard for the wolves who are.
π Kids’ Corner: Howl-o-ween
Want your little wolf advocate to howl this Halloween? Print a free wolf mask, color it, cut it out, and go trick-or-treating as a wolf. Kid and adult sizes are included.

π Why give? Because you can see where it goes.
Luna is something you can actually touch. Your gift is what puts her in front of kids who’ve never met a wolf, and in the field with tribal partners against poachers.
And Luna is just one piece of what you power this Wolf Advocacy Week and every week:
βοΈ Suing the state over the public trust. Wildlife belongs to everyone, so everyone has legal standing.
π Watchdog research. Open records requests that expose what agencies won’t say.
π Fighting to list wolves as endangered in Wisconsin.
π 100% grassroots. We take $0 from corporations or government, and we don’t do the agency’s PR.
We’re all volunteers. Every dollar goes to the work.
We Beat the 2021 Hunt
Our lawsuit stopped Wisconsin’s November 2021 wolf hunt. Help us keep winning.
Checks: Great Lakes Wildlife Alliance, 117 Ardmore Drive, Madison, WI 53713. Please put your phone number in the memo line.
Want Luna to visit your business, library, or brewery? Just reply and let us know.
Happy Wolf Advocacy Week and Howl-o-ween wishes,
