Somewhere in Wisconsin tonight, a wolf mother is watching her pups. She doesn’t know that by Christmas, there’s a coin-flip chance one of them won’t make it — not from disease, not from winter, but from a bullet or a trap someone won’t be prosecuted for.

On September 5, 2026, President Trump signed an executive order directing federal officials to review — and move toward removing — Endangered Species Act protections for gray wolves, while also allowing ranchers to kill them. Even before this order takes effect, poaching already goes largely unprosecuted in Wisconsin. Weakened federal protection will only embolden it further.
Protecting the Intact Family
When we fight to protect wolves, we are not just fighting for a number on a map. We are fighting to preserve profound social bonds and ancient traditions that exist nowhere else in the wild.
Late wolf biologist Dr. Gordon Haber spent decades observing wild packs, and described an intact, unexploited family as capable of “astonishingly beautiful and complex cooperative behaviors.”

Every time a pack is disrupted, a family structure is broken, a culture is fractured, and generations of learned knowledge are lost. Your support keeps these families intact — letting them live out their lives with the peace, dignity, and autonomy they deserve. By funding coexistence, we protect the very fabric of their social world.
You are more likely to be struck by a meteor than a Wisconsin farmer is to lose a cow to a wolf. And still, we can’t stop the killing.
I’ve spent over a decade fighting for these animals, and I’m asking you directly, one person to another: 20 people who believe a wolf family should stay together is all we need to reach our goal. Give $67 — the cost of a single wolf hunting tag if federal protections fall. Not a stranger. Not “someone.” You.
Your $67 is a legal filing. It’s an emergency rule. It’s the reason a wolf family makes it through the winter instead of becoming a statistic. We’ve stopped a slaughter before. We can do it again — but only with 20 people who decide, right now, that this is theirs to fix.

Any gift is appreciated, no matter how small or large.
For the wolves,
