House Passes HR 845: Great Lakes Wildlife Alliance Vows to Fight On, Needs Your Support Now More Than Ever
Wisconsin – December 18, 2025 – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed HR 845, the so-called “Protect and Enhance Threatened and Livestock Act,” a bill that would strip Endangered Species Act protections from gray wolves across the lower 48 states. Great Lakes Wildlife Alliance condemns this reckless legislation and the representatives who voted to abandon science-based wildlife management in favor of political pandering.
But this fight is far from over.
“We are disgusted but not defeated,” said Melissa Smith, Executive Director of Great Lakes Wildlife Alliance. “Our advocates made thousands of calls, sent countless emails, and showed up in impossible numbers against overwhelming odds. That advocacy matters, and we will not stop now.”
The Senate is our next battleground. Wolves are NOT delisted. This bill must still pass the Senate and survive potential presidential action. We have time, but only if we act decisively.
